Anime Dimensions Simulator Starter Characters and First Gem Buy

One Hero, Saiya, Kuroshi, Shinobi, Gomi. Pick one. Do not buy the other four.

Starter Characters

On first join, Anime Dimensions Simulator asks you to pick a hero. That pick is one of five 50-gem faces: One Hero, Saiya, Kuroshi, Shinobi, and Gomi. Albatross Games’ Roblox RPG has been live since 11 June 2021, and those five still exist to get you into a dimension with friends, not to be your raid main at level 15. This page is when to keep them, when to bench them, and which shop button is the first real purchase.

If you already clicked a 50-gem portrait in the shop after the tutorial, that is the mistake this page exists to stop. Read the gem shop tier list before the next tap. The first-hour checklist sits on getting started. Unlock pipes for everything else sit on how to unlock characters.

The five 50-gem faces

One Hero is the All Might-style brawler: straightforward M1s and committed smash buttons. Fine for learning dash cancels. He is not Deku Hundred, and he is not a 1,600 main.

Saiya is the Saiyan template: punches, ki, a big bomb. He teaches cooldown weaving. Base Roku (the other Saiyan parody) sits in E on the current table; Saiya as a starter is the same job with a different portrait. Ultra Instinct Roku is A and is a costume/shop problem, not a starter problem.

Kuroshi is the fast melee pick. He feels better in dimensions than One Hero because he moves. He is still a 50-gem kit. Do not confuse him with Shadow Kuroshi or other later shop clones.

Shinobi is the clone-and-kunai kit. He is the most common “I still main my starter at level 30” face, and he is the reason people skip Speed. Starter Shinobi is not Shinobi (Six Paths). Six Paths is S and was buffed in July 2026. Your 50-gem Shinobi does not inherit that patch.

Gomi is the simple striker. Sun Gomi is S (also July 2026 buffed). Starter Gomi is not Sun Gomi. If a friend says Gomi is meta, they own the costume.

All five share the same economy: 50 gems in the shop, 100 collection points, four skills, no fifth awakening until you buy a costume that is not worth buying for a unit you will bench. They will clear early dimensions in online co-op. They will not carry Infinite at level 20.

Older 50-gem shop faces — Reku, Hatsu, base Fluffy, Kirua, base Nardo, base Roku, base Ichini — sit in D, E, or F on the character rankings. Those are not the current starter picker, and they are never a “cheap extra.” If the shop still lists them at 50, leave them listed.

When to replace the starter

Replace when any of these is true:

  • You have 1,600 or more gems and a 1,600-plus S or high-A name is in the shop.
  • You hit level 15 and your raid damage cannot reach the first reward band in a full lobby.
  • You are dying to mobility: packs walk away while your starter plants a smash.
  • You own a costume that is actually a different row (Six Paths, Gear 5, Final) — that costume is the replacement, not a skin.

Do not replace at level 8 because a thumbnail said “best character.” Codes are still locked until 10. Do not replace because four other 50-gem faces are on sale. Do not replace with Shield Man, Bowman, or base King of Curses because those prices look smaller than 1,600.

A starter with a decent card and a common trait will still beat a 1,600 A-tier you bought on impulse and never traited. The bench happens when the shop offers a real main, not when you are bored.

The first real purchase

Look at the shop. If Speed, Hunter, or an Eden-class 1,600 (Eden, Primordial, Frostblade, Hope, Shiro, Akari, Ghoul, Blood Fiend, Spear Guy) is still there, that is the buy. Speed is the dimension mobility pick AverageXfire still pushes. Hunter is the other 2,500 S. Blood Fiend is the Power-style kit. If those SKUs are gone, buy a current S-tier shop name — Shadow Monarch-style trophies, Ichini (Final) costumes, other 1,600–2,500 S faces — not a 1,600 A like Shield Man or BiriBiri.

Skip:

  • The other four starters.
  • 800-gem B faces.
  • Costumes for the starter you are about to bench.
  • Pets.
  • A raid-token exclusive you cannot enter until 15 if you are still sitting on 400 gems at level 11.

Gem income is slow: ~25 per level, dailies, Time Chamber, codes. One 1,600 purchase is the account’s first real decision. The video on this page is that decision. After it, your starter becomes an assist candidate or a collection row, not a main.

What to do with the starter after you buy a main

Park them. Optionally throw a leftover assist slot at Shinobi or Saiya if you have nothing with an attack buff. Do not spend 50 Raid Tokens rerolling a Divine trait onto Gomi the week you finally own Speed. Trait fuel goes on the main; see the traits page after the purchase.

Keep the starter equipped in AFK if the game only cares that a character is selected. Take the main into dimensions, raids, and Infinite. If a limited raid lists your starter as a +50% specialist (rare), swap in for that lobby only.

Online co-op will let friends drag a stubborn starter through maps you should have replaced. That is a gift. It is not a build. When those friends hop into a raid at 15, they will notice the eight-minute timer before you do.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, raids, gems, and character picks.

Which of the five starters is best?

Shinobi or Kuroshi feel better in dimensions because they move. The gap is small. The first 1,600 shop buy matters more than the pick.

Should I buy the other starters for collection?

No. They grant 100 collection points each. A 1,600 main grants 1,600. Save the gems.

Is starter Shinobi the same as Shinobi (Six Paths)?

No. Six Paths is an S-tier costume that was buffed in July 2026. The 50-gem Shinobi does not get that kit.

What should I buy first with gems?

Speed, Hunter, or Eden-class if they are still in the shop; otherwise a current S-tier shop name. Full costs are on the gem shop ranking.

When do I stop using my starter in raids?

As soon as you own a 1,600-plus main or a matching limited specialist. Raids open at 15; the starter is a last resort there.
